Pretty ceramics

I love the old part of Ljubljana, the narrow streets and the little shops that offer so many pretty and unique pieces of art. Quite few shops offer local products from jewelery, ceramics, clothes to food. Whatever your heart desire and might remind you of this beautiful dragon city when you return home from vacation.

One of my favourite shops is Babushka boutique. It's located in old city centre, on Stari trg street. Check the link for more. I often shop here gifts for my family and friends and of course sometimes for myself ;)

Recently I discovered a really pretty ceramics made by Marina Marinski. She is Croatian artist and her ceramic products are amazing! I love it how they are made, I love the colours she uses and I love the forms!
I purchased a tiny cup that is supposed to be a coffee cup (espresso cup), but since I don't drink coffee and loved it so much I bought it, I'm gonna use it for other things ;)

As an art teacher, I always love to wear unique things that make me happy and my kids love it as well. I love to inspire kids how to make that kind of things themselves, how to be creative, how to be unique.
So another thing I have found and I can wear, is this pretty brooch.

I adore the watercolour detail and I absolutely love the gold flowers on it!

If you are interested in Marinski products, you can buy them in Babushka boutique or you can order her ceramics online at Marinski Heartmades. Check her webpage! You're gonna love it! ;)

Recently I purchased another cup that is bigger, latte cup, to enjoy my tea time with Marinski ceramics. The collection is growing and there are many new, pretty pieces I can't wait to get!

Ruby the pink ;)

Have you ever tried Ruby chocolate?
While walking thru the beautiful city centre of Ljubljana, I noticed it in a chocolate store in old part of city. Hit the link and check the location!

Ruby chocolate is all natural and the pink colour comes from aging it! Who would it thought, right!? You probably wonder how it tastes. Well, it's got fruity flavour with some sour notes. Not like any chocolate you're used to. It is sooooooooo good! Mmmmmm! Try it with some pink lemonade! Cheers! ;)

In love with Zoya ;)

From the first day I started using Zoya nail polish, I'm enthusiastic over it. Zoya nail polishes are as natural as they can be, contain no formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or camphor! They are safe to use in pregnancy and for anyone with allergies, which was the primary reason I bought the first bottle and became loyal to the brand.

It's really hard to pick one favourite, since season changes and so does my mood and colour preference. I do have few picked that I use all year long, but wait till my next post, I will introduce them to you. ;)

These are my most commonly used Zoya shades:

This summer I'm going bananas over one particular Zoya shade! I love the perfect, vibrant summer shade of Maura and I love the fact that one layer of nail polish is enough and I'm readdy to go! I don't have much time for manicure and make up before I go out, so I'm always in search for easy to use, quick dry, one layer sufficient,... kind of things. ;)

Let me know in comments below what is your favourite Zoya nail polish and how satisfied are you with the collection you use.

Pretty ballerinas Ursanina ;)

Do you travel a lot? Are you a teacher? Do you walk a lot at work? Does your feet want and need to breathe?

I do love my feet to feel comfortable and I always struggle to find that good pair of shoes that I can wear all day without complaining how my feet hurt and take them everywhere I go just in case I need to put something cosy on my feet. At the Christmas fair, which I love to explore every year and see new things from local craftsmen, I noticed beautiful, colourful felt slippers and decided to check out the Ursanina webpage (← click the link and start exploring).

What drew my attention were ballerina flats 😍 in wide variety option of colours and a clip on flowers! Which means, you can change it anytime, use it as hair decoration as well, or clip it on cardigan, on purse,... you name it ;)

Ballerinas are made of colorful fabric, with a 100% woolen sole inside which is an outstanding insulator! That means it will give a nice cooling effect in summer days and nice warming feeling in colder days!

If you are worried, how to clean them, it's easy. You can wash them in washing machine, but make sure you use wool programme (cold water) and gentle wool detergent, something like Perwool. I use it for all my woolen clothes, slippers and shoes. Just make sure you don't wear them in rainy days. ;)

I hope you will enjoy them wearing as much as I do 😍 and please feel welcome to comment how you like to wear them, or if you haven't got them yet, just ask, I will gladly help you out and answer.

The hunt for quality and easy to use hairproducts

I get a lot of questions about my hair, that's why I decided to write a blog about products I use. Yes, it's all mine and natural colour. I don't use any hair dyes and I cut them every month around 2cm and once or twice, sometimes 3 times per year around 20cm.

My hair is about 1m long and went through hormone imbalance, pregnancy hair loss, dandruff, stress, unsufficient care because of lack of time and now it needs a lot of love and attention 😉

I tried with all kinds of shampoos and currently I'm extremely satisfied with three of them! First is Naturavit anti-dandruff creamshampoo ( Click here and check it out), which is available in all DM stores across Slovenija or you can order it online.

Then there's Rausch shampoo ( Check out the link), which is available in all Müller stores in Europe, and L'Angelica (← Check out their home page) Almond and royal yelly shampoo which is available in all Müller stores and also in all DM stores in Europe. If you don't have any Müller shops nearby, you can order from Müller online shop (← Check out their website)!

When I shampoo and rinse my hair, I love to apply the Christali Argan oil in spray or oil. I personally prefer oil, because hair gets much smoother, they are so much easyer to comb (long hair get soooooo tangled!!!) and that smell and glow just makes me fell happy 😍

Besides the argan oil, I also use coconut, buriti oil on daily basis and apply it on dry hair in the morning when I leave the house in a hurry. It's so much easyer to comb long hair, it will will give you wonderful glow and your hair will smell like summer and coconuts 😉 Oil is available in all DM stores in Europe. By the way, it's labeled vegan. Try it! You won't regret, I promise! And a hint... Basket of all those products I mentioned could also be a really nice gift to someone with longer hair!

I alreaddy blogged about L'Angelica products and you can read all about it here (click the link).
Do you have any questions? Want to tell me how you use it? Feel free to leave a comment below! 😉

The refreshing scent of Acqua Colonia

I get many compliments on the scent I am wearing, thank you! So I've decided to write a short post about the one I wear in warmer weather and summer days. I often memorize scents I come across on daily basis and whenever I sense it, it brings back vivid memories of places or people I came across in past. Somehow like Marcel Proust describes involuntary memory in his novel »In search of lost time«.

Through years I've also been doing experiments and researches on aromatherapy, trying to find a nonagressive, pleasent scent that would keep me focused on my goals and make me feel relaxed and comfortable. Since I love the taste of lime, which is really refreshing, especially in summer, I decided to test the lime fragarance of Acqua Colonia few years ago and I like it so much, I still use it now! It's gender neutral fragrance, so it's suitable for either man or a woman!

At first I was in doubt, since many fragarances fade, but this one I assure you, will stay all day. Spray it on clothes and it will last even longer or spray it on curtains if you want that pleasant smell in your house! All the collection of Acqua Colonia (← click the link) was carefully mixed and it does work on your senses!

In summer I like to have refreshing aroma tissues in my purse and Acqua Colonia also offers those in different scents. I chose the lime & nutmeg and pink pepper & grapefruit.

If you are interested in visiting the 4711 House of Fragrances (← click the link) or even create your own cologne, check out the link and visit them in Köln, Germany.

If you have decided to try it out, leave a comment and do let me know what you think about it. I'm almost sure you'll find the one for you in the collection. In Europe, they are available in all Müller stores (check the link for your nearest store), or order it on Amazon or eBay.

Loving Vincent

I never write about films, but I have been impressed by this one so much, I felt the urge to leave a post.

Have you seen the film Loving Vincent (click and check the imdb link)? It's a story, the world's first fully-painted feature film, about Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Story is happening 1 year after his death, when Armand tries to deliver Vincent's last letter to his beloved brother Theo. Every opening scene of the film, when new character appears, starts with van Gogh's painting.

Film is a Polish production, made by artist, writer and director Dorota Kobiela and co-director Hugh Welchman in collaboration with 125 painters.

Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30th 1853 in Zundert, Netherlands, one year after his stillborn brother and 4 years before his brother Theo. Theo and Vincent were very much attached to one another. Vincent died on July 29th 1890 in Auvers-sur-Oise, France and 6 months after, Theo died as well.

Have you herd the song »Starry, starry night«? It was written by American singer and songwriter Don Mclean, a touching tribute to magnificent Vincent van Gogh. Click the link and check it out...

For the love of Magnolias

Each time my mind is blown away by the paintings mother nature paints. Divine moments. Yes, moments. This time my ode is to Magnolias.

Gacella of Unforseen love
by Federico Garcia Lorca

No one understood the perfume
of the dark magnolia of your womb.

Nobody knew that you tormented
a hummingbird of love between your teeth.

A thousand Persian little horses fell asleep
in the plaza with moon of your forehead,
while through four nights I embraced
your waist, enemy of the snow.

Between plaster and jasmins, your glance
was a pale branch of seeds.

I sought in my heart to give you
the ivory letters that say "siempre",

"siempre", "siempre" : garden of my agony,
your body elusive always,
that blood of your veins in my mouth,
your mouth already lightless for my death.

February's Carnival time!

This year I went to see the Carnival in a small town, the Peace messenger city, Slovenj Gradec. The parade started with the smallest ones, kindergarten groupes and ended with a groupe of Kurents. Here are some of my favourite costumes ;)

Chasing the light...

I've been wandering around these days when nature got such a beautiful white coat. Yes, we finally have gotten some snow! :) I'm always on the hunt for that beautiful purple light I once saw in my dreams. When red and blue meet... I often stop and stare for a while when my eye catches something pleasing. Nature paints us such a heart warming pictures...

Cute pillow cases for your little ones!

When I was a child, my mamma made me every year for my birthday a pillowcase with number of my age sewn on it. After all these years, I sti...
